What We Do

Tax relief options that actually stop IRS collections

The IRS doesn’t have one program. It has several. The right resolution depends on the specific financial picture — and every case starts with a complete review.

Offer in Compromise

Settle IRS debt for less than the full amount owed. We build the case the IRS needs to see — when the numbers actually qualify.

Installment Agreement

Structured monthly payment plan. Stops active IRS collections once the agreement is in place.

Currently Not Collectible

Pause IRS collections when paying any amount creates genuine financial hardship. Buys time and stops the pressure.

Learn more

Penalty Abatement

Remove IRS penalties when compliance history is clean or a documented cause qualifies. Interest tied to abated penalties comes off too.

Learn more

IRS Levy Release

Stop active levies on bank accounts, accounts receivable, or Social Security. Speed matters — once a levy hits, the window is short.

Wage Garnishment Help

Stop the IRS from taking from every paycheck. Garnishments end fast once the right resolution path is in motion.

What Makes Us Different

What separates legitimate firms from OIC mills

The IRS flags OIC mills annually in its Dirty Dozen list of tax scams. Here’s the difference.

OIC Mills

Other firms

  • Promise an Offer in Compromise to anyone with a phone
  • Charge $5,000–$20,000 upfront before reviewing the financials
  • Vague “settle for pennies on the dollar” advertising
  • No written work agreement that clarifies scope
  • Stop returning calls once the retainer is paid
  • Disappear, leaving clients worse off than they started

Real Clients, Real Results

How tax relief feels

★★★★★
Our situation started with a letter from the IRS threatening to levy our business accounts. We had hired another firm first, paid the fee, and waited two months with no answers. Then the levy hit while that firm stopped returning calls. Carmine at Omni was caring, compassionate, and knowledgeable. Omni resolved what the first firm could not.

Common Questions

Frequently asked questions

The questions we hear most. Honest answers — no sales pitch.

IRS tax relief is the collection of programs the IRS offers to resolve outstanding tax debt. The main options are Offer in Compromise (settling for less than owed), Installment Agreements (structured payment plans), Currently Not Collectible status (pausing collections), and Penalty Abatement. The right program depends on the financial picture and how far into the collection process the case has gone. Most cases use a combination.
Can the IRS really settle tax debt for less than what’s owed?
Yes, through the Offer in Compromise program. The IRS accepted roughly 21% of OIC applications in 2024. Acceptance depends on the IRS determining that the settlement amount represents the most it could reasonably collect based on income, expenses, and asset equity. Not every case qualifies. Any firm guaranteeing a specific settlement before reviewing the financials is not being honest about how the IRS evaluates offers.
How long does IRS tax resolution take?
It depends on the program. Installment agreements are typically in place within weeks. Currently Not Collectible status takes 30 to 90 days. Offer in Compromise takes 6 to 12 months from submission to IRS decision. Wage garnishment and levy releases can happen within days once a resolution path is in motion.
Why hire a firm if I can just call the IRS myself?
You can. The honest answer is that what you’re paying for is knowing which path to take, how to present the financial picture, and how to avoid the missteps that get applications rejected. The IRS process has rules that aren’t intuitive. We’ve spent 20+ years inside it. For straightforward cases, you may not need help. For most cases involving real money or active collections, the cost of a misstep is higher than the cost of getting it right the first time.
What does Omni charge?
Omni is retainer-based. The work agreement covers preparation and submission of the best possible resolution, billed against the retainer at hourly rates. Total cost depends on the complexity of the case. We discuss this transparently before any agreement is signed.
Will the IRS take my passport or my house?
For seriously delinquent tax debt over $66,000 (the 2026 threshold, adjusted annually for inflation), the IRS can certify you to the State Department, which can deny passport applications or renewals. The IRS rarely seizes a primary residence, but federal tax liens become public record and affect the ability to sell or borrow against property. Both situations are resolvable. The earlier we engage, the better the options.
What if I haven’t filed taxes in years?
Unfiled returns are common and fixable. The IRS generally requires the last six years of returns to be filed before approving most resolution programs. Omni handles return preparation and filing as part of the resolution work, so getting compliant and getting into a program happen together.
Does Omni work with people in every state?
Yes. IRS debt is federal and Omni works with clients in all 50 states. Representation is handled remotely. The IRS accepts power of attorney filings electronically, so there’s no need to meet in person regardless of location.

The IRS isn’t waiting. Neither should you.
