Executes fundamental accounting tasks as required to support the Bookkeeping Department, ensuring full compliance with established company standards and procedures.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Reconciles bank statements and receipts with precision.
- Prepares, verifies, and processes profit and loss statements.
- Compiles journal entries and generates daily, weekly, and monthly financial reports.
- Maintains and files clerical records, reporting pertinent information to operations.
- Performs additional duties as assigned.
- Upholds strict confidentiality regarding sensitive financial information of the company and clients.
Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities
- Ability to successfully pass a background check.
- Proficient understanding of bookkeeping and accounting principles, practices, and standard office procedures.
- Exhibits a positive attitude, high energy, and professionalism, demonstrating trustworthiness, respect, and strong work ethics.
- Advanced proficiency in PC operations, Microsoft Word, Excel, QuickBooks, and computerized accounting systems.
- Strong mathematical skills, including proficiency in arithmetic, algebra, statistics, and their applications.
- Exceptional organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail, capable of handling a high volume of numerical tasks with speed and accuracy.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to comprehend and follow complex instructions and technical or legal terminology.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
Education and Experience
- Requires 1-2 years of experience in bookkeeping, accounting, or advanced record-keeping roles (relevant business school or college coursework may substitute for up to 6 months of experience).
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to sit for extended periods while working at a computer.
- Requires sufficient manual dexterity for typing and computer-related tasks.
- Needs adequate visual acuity to view and interpret reports and navigate computer systems
- Occasionally involves bending, reaching, climbing a step stool, and lifting.
Environmental Working Conditions
Frequent exposure to and utilization of computers.
